Did this post when hobhie(my Canon DSLR) was still new. I'm a lot better on these kind of shots now.
Last night I tried putting my artistic ability(kaartehan) to the test. 'Put up my tripod, cleared our dining table (which served as my virtual photo-studio for days), laid the ever reliable illustration board and took out that stainless pot lid. Pot lid? yes - to bounce the light from our incandescent bulb ; ). For my subject, I took out some of my shoes, accessories, trinkets and my extension tube. I cannot afford that telephoto macro lens just yet - will have to do months of saving for that. The extension tube hopefully will give me a similar effect. When you're an aspiring photographer on a budget, you just need to innovate and improvise :D After 70 shots or so, shiny oily! forehead, messed up dining table and an aching back , I managed to pick 7 shots to post. (my cocktail ring, shoe buckle, shoe charm, glittery glam, xoxo, kisses in a bottle and pink). I sure wished there was more light which I'll definitely do next time.
My verdict: I need more practice for my arte-graphy and Salonpas for my back...
