Unleash the Animal

Animal print and/or skins, (especially the leopard) seems to be a popular trend these days.  You can find it anywhere, from Rustan's to Tiangges, from a shoe bow(accent), bag, leggins or even a full wardrobe.  Of course not everyone's into it, but somehow, I think I do.  :) I got the chance to arrange some of my things today and realized it could be one of my unconscious preference, or what fashionista's call, "style."   With something plain (no ruffles, no flower, no graphic. no fabric work),  it must be with hardware or, ANIMAL PRINT.
(These  items were bought even before the animals joined the mainstream :) )

ZEBRA print bag

and my favorite ZEBRA leather shoes.

It's a match!

And since the LEOPARD rave, here are my conscious buys for the sake of this trend.
Sandals.

and SHEER COVER-UP (with lace trimming)
I'm excited to wear this, maybe on our family reunion on New Year's day.

and a SCARF (from Ina).

Wearing animal prints can be tricky and one may look tacky.  So unless you want to be a Lady GAGA or a house carpet.  Wear each sparingly.  I know you will ELD. :)

and so my conscience has spoken:
(written on a lazy Friday afternoon - counting down to a Vacay ending soooon - resisting the fridge and the inviting bedroom - I should be exercising, not bloggin,,,hehehe!)

Inspiration

I recently bought a magazine and again noticed these trends:
Tassles, fringe, fabric cord, chain and feathers.

And because I'm really a big fan of bold accessories, I instantly knew I had to make my own (Artegraphy) version.  Without leaving Cavite,  I managed to find this fabric cord,

and tassel in it's raw state.  After a few stiches, twisting, bending, here and there,,,

my very own statement necklace in Scarlet was made. Tadah!

Still inspired with the designs I saw, I decided to re-do my used-to-be chunky bracelet made-into-a-necklace,  in a BOLDER neck piece.
Imagine you're not seeing the extra chain,,, it is/was a bracelet(before). And then I overcame the bracelet addiction and made it into a necklace.

After adding chains and orange plastic beads, I achieved this look.  Non ordinary-for-the-bold-only Artegraphy necklace :)

But wait, there's more (haha!) I still have feathers from Expressions.  I bought it months ago for a different purpose (headgear day) but I guess it'll have to end up this way.
Long chain feather necklace.

feather earrings
You'll find similar items in malls ranging from 200 to 500 for feather necklace and 50 to 200 for earrings.  They must be making a lot of money. Lucky me, I can make my own.
Of course this is only a trial (using what I already have at home) but I hope to find the "rebonded" kind of feather in another color for another project (bib like feather necklace).  Will post the pictures once it's done.

I'm a no fashion guru, just a practical kikay Momma, but let me give a simple TIP:
Buy all the basic plain top(s) in all colors and accessorize with bold necklace.  Depending on the lenght, it can downplay or highlight your features and/or assets chest and up. :D

Cliche!

The description " best gift ever" might be a cliche but I'm out of words for the advance Christmas gift I received this evening
I was finishing my tea and Fibee keeps on telling me to go up, to our room, already. I thought she's just sleepy after drinking her anti-allergy. And then I finally gave in and went to our room.  Lying on the center of our bed is this:

I knew instantly that bond paper was covering something.  These!!! (candies, cereal, angry birds bracelet and coin purse)

My little Chichay and her gifts to IMI (me)

My heart melted.  My chichay deserves a squeeze ( hug with a kiss!)

Most people say, she doesn't look like Mommy, but she's as thoughtful and sweet as mommy can be ;) Lablab my Fibee!
